I’m a MD/PhD student in the Isom Lab from Cerritos, CA. I earned my BA in biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and am currently working on the function and structure of dark proteins. Outside the lab, I enjoy eating good food, spending time with my family and being in the sun.

Graduate Student
Sam Taylor
Cancer Biology Program

I’m a PhD Candidate in the Isom Lab from Annapolis, MD. I earned my BS from UNC and NC State and am currently focused on understanding the functional role of dark proteins and pH-sensitive signaling roles in cancer progression. Outside the lab, I enjoy weightlifting and spending time with my daughter.

Graduate Student
Bruno Colon
Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology Program

I’m PhD student in the Isom Lab from Tampa, Fl. I earned a BS in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of South Florida and an MS in Biomedicine from the University of Miami. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology. Outside the lab, I enjoy weightlifting, grilling at the beach, and checking out local breweries.

Graduate Student
Shraddha Chandthakuri
Cancer Biology Program

I'm a PhD Candidate in the Isom Lab from Kathmandu, Nepal. I earned my BS in Biomedical Sciences from Troy University and am currently working on understanding vesicle-associated functions of dark proteins. Outside the lab, I enjoy baking and learning new hobbies (currently into air clay modeling).

Senior Scientist
Jennifer Arcuri, PhD
Director of exploratory mass spectrometry and confocal microscopy.

I was born and raised in Europe by a nomadic band of gypsies that trained me in the dark art of confocal microscopy. I soon developed an interest in how heavy small things are and bartered a trade to a druid colony where I received additional training in mass spectroscopy. My friends will often hear me say, "If you can do mass spec in a cave, you can do it at UM."
